This is a patent remedy based on the ancient recipe "Xiao Huo Luo Dan" (Mild Pill for Activating Meridians) in TCM originally appeared in Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang (Benevolent Prescriptions from Taiping Pharmaceutical Bureau), which is primarily used for expelling wind and activating collaterals, removing dampness and alleviating pain, in cases of wind-cold-dampness arthralgia, pain of limbs, numbness and muscular contracture.

Indications
It is indicated for arthralgia due to wind, cold and dampness, marked by contracture or pain of limbs, muscles and tendons, difficult movement of joints, migratory pain, aversion to cold and preference for warmth, pale tongue or purplish tongue, whitish fur, deep and thready pulse. It is applicable to rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, hyperosteogeny, and others that are characterized by contracture and pain of limbs, preference for warmth and aversion to cold, pale tongue with whitish fur. Applicable to dislocation of shoulder joint in the late stage; dislocation of metacarpophalangeal joint in the late stage; lateral humeral epocondylitis; injury of collateral ligament of knee joint; meniscus injury of knee joint; neck sprain and contusion.* * This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug administration.
