Sodium ascorbate is one of the mineral salt forms of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). It can provide both ascorbic acid and sodium, and will not contribute to gastric irritation in acid-sensitive persons. Sodium ascorbate is produced from a combination of sodium bicarbonate and ascorbic acid. General single dose for adult can be 1000mg (about ¼ teaspoon, which provides 884mg ascorbic acid and 116mg sodium mineral) with water or juice 1 to 2 times daily.
